Book Your Hotels Now!
We have just discovered that there will be a large country music festival in our area on the same weekend as the Baja competition. We think that this will have a very bad effect on the availability of hotel room space and camping sites.
Please call NOW and make your reservations! See our Hotel List and Maps. With all the other stresses of Baja competition, you don't want to be driving long distances at the beginning and end of every day. It might be better to reserve now for your possible needs, and cancel later if your needs need adjustment (check and follow your vendor's cancellation policy!).

Reserve Vegetarian Meals online
Some of the meals during competition will be provided free to competitors (students and advisors), and at a nominal cost to spectators. The awards banquet will be provided to all at a nominal cost ($9).
Vegetarian meals will be provided to those who sign up for them. Veggie meal sign-ups must be received by March 15, 2009.

Static and Dynamic Events to be held at NCAT
All events at BajaSAE Alabama 2009 will be held at Auburn’s National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) in Opelika, AL. Expect an even better course line-up from this proven event location in April!
The location of the Awards Banquet has yet to be finalized. We expect this to be the only aspect of the competition that will be located at the Auburn University campus. However, an alternate plan has the banquet on-location at NCAT. More to follow as plans materialize.

No Water at Baja SAE Alabama 2009
The Baja SAE Alabama 2009 Organizers at Auburn University announce, with great regret, that it is not possible to provide deep water for this competition. Therefore, the Baja vehicles will not be required to float in the Endurance Race, and there will be no Water Maneuverability short event. This is a final decision, and Baja vehicle design and construction for the Alabama competition may proceed on this basis.
